We had no hesitation going back to Mead family funerals when my father died in April this year, 5 months after my mother died.They are so supportive, reassuring and nothing is too much trouble which made everything easy to deal at a difficult time.

When my brother Clive died unexpectedly earlier this year, I was faced with organising his funeral from Scotland. From the moment I spoke to Jody, I knew Clive was in safe hands. He combined professionalism with genuine warmth and compassion, making what could have been an overwhelming experience much more manageable.Nothing was too much trouble. Every aspect of the arrangements was handled efficiently and with great care, while advice and support were always available when I needed them. Jody took away so much of the stress, was accommodating throughout, and ensured everything was carried out perfectly from start to finish.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this family business to anyone looking for caring, professional funeral directors.

First class service provided by Mead Family Funerals recently following the loss of our mum. Mead Family Funerals were excellent. Karen, Gem and Jody took any stress out of the process. They took care of all arrangements and complications involved with catering for Mum’s wishes of a service in Wroughton and an internment in Cheltenham with a graveside ceremony. Everything went like clockwork and they afforded mum great dignity on her last journey. They were always efficient, quick to respond, friendly and professional. They never pushed for expensive options and were focussed on our wants and needs. The invoice was precise and there was no pressure for payment whilst we waited for Mum’s bank to settle. They have arranged for a headstone to be installed at the appropriate time without adding any mark up.I can’t recommend them highly enough.

There was absolutely no hesitation; Jem and Karen were wonderful when they took care of my mum. As soon as I said my name, Jem recalled mum and where we lived, it was sad news, I needed them again, this time for dad.

As a family we are eternally grateful to Karen, Jem and Jody for the genuine kindness and care they have shown us as a family since we lost our darling mum and our Dads’s adored wife in August. As a team they went above and beyond for us, taking the time to understand our needs and supporting us through those first painful few weeks. I knew from our first meeting we were in safe hands. I was very grateful that I chose Mead Family Funerals to handle the funeral for my father. As a grieving family who had not arranged a funeral before we were very unsure of how to proceed but Jem and his team took control and lifted the weight from us. They were so caring, respectful and professional in everything they done for us, from the first meeting at our home to the day of the funeral nothing was to much trouble. Jem and the team instructed me and my brother in how to carry dads coffin as part of their bearer party and together we carried him in. I can’t thank them enough for helping us to carry out that final act of love for our dad. Massive thanks to everyone at Meads. We would recommend them to friends and family without hesitation.

My Dad Tony passed away in January 2023 leaving myself and my family very saddened and mourning his loss. Highly recommend Mead Family Funerals I recently lost both my mum and dad within 5 weeks of each other. Jem and Karen were absolutely amazing, so compassionate, caring and kind, nothing at all was too much trouble for them. Whenever I rang them they were cheerful, or if I popped into their offices I was always greeted with a hug and a smile. Mums funeral was beautiful and Mikayla, the celebrant, was amazing, so when I rang Jem on the Sunday morning to tell him that I would need his help again as my dad had unexpectedly passed away the night before he said I’ll be round in half an hour, and he was. It’s never easy to accept the loss of a loved one, but the loss of your child is something no parent should have to endure. For us, our beautiful and much wanted and loved baby girl, fell asleep in my tummy with 53 days to go. To be faced with the task of planning her funeral was incredibly hard.Some basic searches on the internet about what happens when a baby is stillborn gave us two options, a hospital funeral, or one arranged by ourselves. Being local to the village and Mead Family Funerals having looked after other family members, there was only one option for us.From the first meeting with Jem and Karen, we were all allowed to grieve and talk and cry, and believe it or not laugh about various things, but the most consistent part of the meeting was about how special the funeral needed to be for our girl. We hadn’t been informed about the difference between cremation and burial and what remains would be left, so my initial plans for a cremation with Poppy’s ashes in glass was no longer possible. Our initial plans for Poppy to be cremated soon changed to a burial, at rest in her home village.For me, it was important that Poppy was laid to rest in 2017, having been conceived and born in the year, I couldn’t bear the thought of leaving it until after Christmas. Within minutes Jem and Karen were making this happen for us.The process for what was such a traumatic thing to do was made so much easier with having Jem and Karen show true compassion and care towards our girl, and us; Instant surrogate grandparents if you will.The family feel from Mead Family Funerals was the reason for choosing them to arrange Poppy’s funeral and without a doubt the right one.There was a way around everything to ensure our beautiful girl had a truly personal, loving and a service to make her proud when she watched from heaven.From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you x

I lost my mum 2 years ago from pancreatic cancer and with me only being 22 at the time it was a very stressful and emotional time for me. Karen and Jeremy made me and my family as comfortable we could have been given the circumstances.
