Our Unattended (Direct) Cremation is distinct from those offered by national providers. We prioritise a serene and respectful farewell, ensuring that you receive personalised support from our dedicated team in Wroughton, rather than navigating arrangements through a distant call centre. Here’s how we ensure a meaningful experience:

• Your loved one will be brought into our care at Mead Family Funerals, Wroughton. Unlike other providers, we do not transfer them to a national or regional mortuary or crematorium.
• We treat your loved one with the utmost respect and care, just as we would for a traditional funeral.
• In accordance with your wishes, we will dress your loved one in their own clothing.
• If you wish, you are welcome to visit your loved one in our Chapel of Rest, with no additional charge during office hours.
• On the day of the cremation, your loved one will be transported to the crematorium in our traditional hearse, ensuring a respectful journey.
• Our compassionate team of pallbearers will carry the coffin into the chapel with care and dignity, placing it on the catafalque.
• You have the option to select a piece of music to be played during this heartfelt moment.
• Our team will take a moment to pay their respects, bowing their heads in honour, as our Funeral Director recites the words of committal while the curtain gently closes.
• After the cremation, we will collect your loved one’s ashes on your behalf and support you in making arrangements for their interment or scattering, should you wish.
• We can assist you in choosing a suitable urn or explore other options for memorialising your loved one, such as memorial jewellery.
• Please note that the removal of devices such as pacemakers, which must be done prior to cremation, may incur an additional cost.
