  1. I had the privilege of meeting Eric some eighteen years ago. He was a distant family relative and I found him a wonderful host as he took me touring about the Swindon/Wroughton district, explaining the towns features and history. I have always wished that I had more time to spend in his company. I know he will be sorely missed. R.I.P Eric

  2. Such a lovely gentleman. x

Was most honoured to receive a hand delivered red rose from his garden, which Susan told me ,he was very particular who got one!
It was a beautiful kind gesture.
Such a kind and caring man.
Sincere condolences to all the family.
    Much love to Susan. X

  3. I had the privilege of meeting and spending time with Eric in 2005 and again in 2010 when I was visiting my daughter in the UK. It was great to finally meet a member of my Mother’s family. Eric made me very welcome, saying that he was pleased to have some family from his Mother’s side too.

My deepest condolences to Susan and all the family.

    RIP Eric

  4. During my time living in England, whilst researching my grandmother’s family history in my spare time, I discovered that her cousin had married Eric’s father. I was utterly amazed to find that Eric was living in Wroughton, where I also happened to be living by sheer coincidence, and after meeting Eric and his wife Mary, I had many memorable visits to their home and was always made to feel very welcome. I will always remember Eric referring to me as his ‘little niece from Australia’, and enjoying lengthy discussions on a wide range of topics, from family history to farming, the village of Wroughton and travels around the world to name but a few!

    RIP ‘Uncle Eric’.

  5. We had the great pleasure, and great memories shared with both Eric and Mary. Our Wine and Champagne camping trips in France hold special memories, many laughs and ‘sqiffy’ moments! We were invited into their home as their ‘Kiwi’ friends, with hospitality second to none. They also visited our home. A shared love of caravaning…. And good wine, will Iive in our memories for ever. RIP Eric
