At Family Mead Funerals, we provide a range of funeral services in Swindon, Wroughton and the surrounding area. What We Offer

As part of our services, we can collect your loved one from their place of death and care for them in our home facilities. We also have a Chapel of Rest that is available to you 24 hours a day. For burials, cremations and natural ceremonies, we have a range of beautiful coffin styles that are made here in the UK. From solid oak styles to handmade willow coffins, we are sure to find the perfect choice for your loved one. Get in touch with us to ask for a full brochure.

For the ceremony, we offer comfortable hearse and limousine transport. We ensure to make your day run smoothly and hassle-free, so you can spend more time with your family. For further information, see below for our prices or contact us.

Our Prices

  • Our professional fees to cover administration, the undivided attendance of a Funeral Director, the provision of a hearse and 4 bearers at the funeral service. £1950.00
  • Care of your loved one, embalming and the use of our Chapel of Rest. £275.00
  • Oak or Elm veneered coffins from: £475.00
  • Removals out of office hours. £250.00

Disbursements

These are the costs which are beyond our control, items such as:

  • Church Fees from – £774.50
  • Cremation Fees from – £1,100.00
  • Ministers/Celebrant Fees from – £250.00
  • Grave Digger £480.00
  • Flowers at Cost
  • Newspaper Announcements at Cost
  • Service Sheets at Cost

Funeral Wishes

We believe that asking your loved ones about what type of funeral service they wish to have is important. As a result, we have put together a useful guide to help you ask the right questions. Questions to ask include:

  • Do they want a religious or non-religious ceremony?
  • If a religious service, please state denomination.
  • Find out the name of the church or other location at which they would like the service to take place.
  • Do they want to be buried or cremated?
  • Do they have a preferred crematorium or cemetery?
  • Where would they like their ashes scattered?
  • What kind of coffin would they like?
  • Where would they like the post funeral reception to be held?
  • Do they have any specific wish regarding the clothes that they would like to wear?
  • Would they rather people sent donations instead of flowers, or give them a choice at the time of the funeral?
  • If they would prefer people to make donations which charity would they like to benefit?
  • Type and colour of flowers on the coffin?
  • What type of funeral transportation would they prefer? (Motor Hearse, Horse-Drawn Hearse, Motorbike Hearse or Other?)
  • Who would they like to perform the service?
  • What songs or hymns would they like sung or played at the service?
  • What prayers and readings would they like read at the funeral?
  • Is there anyone they would like to do the Eulogy or readings?
  • Do they have a funeral plan already in existence?
  • If they have a funeral plan, who is it with and what is the plan number?
  • If they have a Will where is it held?
  • Are there any specific requests they wish to make?
  • Have they agreed to organ, cornea or tissue donation?
