Hazel Hodd

Hazel Hodd passed away suddenly in the Great Western Hospital Swindon on Tuesday 23rd February 2021 aged just 67 years.

A private funeral service will be held on Tuesday 16th March, the cortege will leave St John Road at 09:10 and travel along Kerrs Way and Wharf Road for those who wish to pay their last respects.  Messages may also be left in the comments box below.

  6. I have some wonderful memories from working with Hazel at Nationwide. Her heart was always in the right place and she always found the time when it was needed. And no…I never tried to take advantage of her good nature when pushing through a security change. Condolences to her family and friends. Rest easy, Hazel

  8. I cannot believe that I am never going to see your cheerful face again. Our paths crossed a lot in the village from the duck race to being my avon lady to chatting when taking our dogs for a walk and you were at most events in the village my heart goes out to your family who will miss you so much as will all the village you worked so hard for…RIP beautiful lady taken far to soon but always in our hearts xxx

You have been a wonderful friend to me, from The Iron Horse, and The Fox & Hounds days and more recently at the Lansdowne Care Home where you came every week to help cheer others up. Thank you for your kind words and support while my Dad and I was going through a difficult time. I will never forget your kindness. Love to all your family and friends at this awful time. Xxx

  14. Hazel will leave we a big hole in the hearts of many people of the village she was such a lively and vivacious individual. She made me and my family feel welcome when I moved to Wroughton and always went out if her way to help anyone. She was a fantastic neighbour and friend.

  18. RIP Hazel, words can not explain how much you have meant to me and many of us that have been privileged to have you as a Manager whilst working at Nationwide. You have coached and supported me and many others. You have opened job opportunities for me and welcomed me in your home many times. You have spared many hours volunteering for the community. I loved your fighting spirit, never afraid to challenge others. Thank you for great memories and being my friend, I will truly miss you 🥲

  41. Hazel was more than my next door neighbour, she was my friend and treated me like a daughter. I will always remember our puzzle marathons, wines in the garden, trips to the pub, sorting out the Avon orders, Christmas tree decorating and dog walks. You will always be in my heart x
